The Church of St. Peter has an active youth ministry program serving grades 7-12 while also giving opportunities for young adults to become involved. We are guided by the Holy Spirit to bring about a youth ministry program that fully embraces Christ’s call to love and serve one another and to “go and make disciples of the nations” (Matthew 28:19). We work to form disciples through parish involvement, service, fellowship, and prayer.
Here are some of the programs currently offered:

Retreats and Conferences
Part of growing in faith as a young adult requires one to occasionally spend time outside of familiar community settings. The High School youth group will participate in retreats in select areas of the state. In addition, there will be opportunities through other organizations to join a retreat or attend various faith-based conferences. Examples may include but are not limited to:
- Overflow Spring retreat
- Steubenville Catholic Youth Conference
- World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain 2011
Mission/Service Trips
St. Peter's Youth serve others through a variety of community projects and mission trips. Inspired by the motto of “Thinking Globally and Acting Locally,” our youth groups will attempt to learn more and immerse ourselves more fully into the entire Minneapolis/St. Paul community. Many of our brothers and sisters suffer from the injustice of poverty around the world and right in our own backyard. With experiences such as:
- Service trips to centers helping the poor and marginalized
- Immersion trips to neighborhoods and local areas affected by poverty
- Larger mission trips to places outside of Minnesota
- Summer Stretch service projects (for grades 6-8)
We as young people can share the experience of Christian service and solidarity with those who suffer from poverty and injustice.
Fundraising/Donations
A necessary part of supporting strong youth groups and youth ministry in our parish is pulling off successful and fun fundraisers. Youth groups will look at various options throughout the year to help offset costs of our more expensive activities, retreats, conferences, and mission/service trips.
Currently The Youth Group is collecting old cell phones as a fundraiser for our High School programs (retreats, Steubenville Conferences, and mission trips). Please turn in any old cell phones to Hannah at the parish office. If you would like a Tax Credit form, you can receive one at the parish office.
If you are interested in sponsoring a teenager to go to the Steubenville North Conference this summer (July 31-August 2, 2009), please contact Hannah right away!
Sponsorship: If you are interested in sponsoring our youth to attend a retreat or service trip throughout the year, please contact the parish office.
