Catechists

Teaching Our Faith
The Church of St. Peter encourages our confirmed parishioners to consider sharing their faith in our religious education programs as a catechist. Our religious education programs are in need of teachers, teacher assistants, substitutes, hall monitors and special program helpers. Training is available for all catechists and teacher manuals, lesson plans and access to online resources are provided by the religious education coordinators. The Church of St. Peter waives the faith formation tuition for those who volunteer as a catechist or assistant catechist all year.

Catechist requirements include:

  • Must be a confirmed Catholic
  • Must be a practicing Catholic, living your faith
  • Must complete a background check
  • Teacher assistants or other helpers who are under age 18 need two adult letters of recommendation (not from parents).

Train a boy in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not swerve from it. – Proverbs 22:6
