Paraguay Partnership

“Nobody is so poor that he has nothing to give, and nobody is so rich that he has nothing to receive.”
-His Holiness Pope John Paul II

The Paraguay Partnership is a program dedicated to forming a solidarity-based partnership with the Christo Redentor Catholic community in Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay. The goal of the program is a relationship-centered partnership founded on our shared faith, where each partner receives and gives, and teaches and learns from the other.

Some of the program objectives are as follows:

  • Develop and maintain a solidarity-based relationship with the Christo Redentor Catholic community
  • Invite Church of St. Peter parish members to learn about Paraguayan culture and history, and about solidarity-based partnerships
  • Communicate to the Church of St. Peter parish about Paraguay program activities
  • Coordinate delegations to/from Paraguay as appropriate
  • Administer a scholarship program, Padrinos for Paraguay (Godparents for Paraguay) for children in Coronel Oviedo whose parents cannot afford the tuition for school. Sponsorship is $300 per child per year. Learn more about Padrinos for Paraguay.
  • Raise funds for the St. Anthony food program, general school needs, and the Padrinos for Paraguay scholarship program.
